Education: Description of Graphs and Tables
For each Instructional Line and Instructional Group, a series of graphs and tables are displayed (not all graphs may be available for all group/lines).
GRAPHS
- UIUC Total Versus Avg. Displays the total number of degrees that UIUC has awarded each year in this group/line as compared with other institutions in its Cohort by Size and Carnegie Cohort.
- UIUC Undergraduate. Displays the total number of undergraduate (BS) degrees awarded by UIUC each year in this group/line.
- UIUC Graduate. Displays the total number of graduate degrees awarded by UIUC each year in this group/line. Degrees are broken into MS, CAS, PhD and Pro (Professional).
- UIUC Graduate vs Undergraduate. Displays the total number of undergraduate versus graduate degrees awarded by UIUC each year in this group/line. Degrees are broken into BS, MS, CAS, PhD and Pro (Professional).
- UIUC Undergraduate Gender. Displays the total number of undergraduate degrees awarded to men versus women by UIUC each year in this group/line. Offers insights into the gender of the undergraduate population in this group/line.
- UIUC Graduate Gender. Displays the total number of graduate degrees awarded to men versus women by UIUC each year in this group/line. Offers insights into the gender of the graduate population in this group/line. All MS, CAS, PhD, and Pro degrees are group/lineed together for the purposes of this graph.
- UIUC Undergraduate Race. Displays the total number of undergraduate degrees awarded to members of each race by UIUC each year in this group/line. "Alien" counts resident aliens and is included this graph so that the number of resident aliens can be compared against each racial classification.
- UIUC Graduate Race. Displays the total number of graduate degrees awarded to members of each race by UIUC each year in this group/line. "Alien" counts resident aliens and is included this graph so that the number of resident aliens can be compared against each racial classification.
- UIUC Undergraduate Minorities. Displays the total number of undergraduate degrees awarded to members of minority races by UIUC each year in this group/line. "Alien" counts resident aliens and is included this graph so that the number of resident aliens can be compared against each racial classification. This graph is identical to the UIUC Undergraduate Race graph except for the exclusion of "White" and "Unknown" races, to allow the graph to be zoomed to just minorities.
- UIUC Graduate Minorities. Displays the total number of graduate degrees awarded to members of minority races by UIUC each year in this group/line. "Alien" counts resident aliens and is included this graph so that the number of resident aliens can be compared against each racial classification. This graph is identical to the UIUC Graduate Race graph except for the exclusion of "White" and "Unknown" races, to allow the graph to be zoomed to just minorities.
- Percent All Women. Displays the total percent of degrees that UIUC has awarded to women each year in this group/line as compared with other institutions in its Cohort by Size and Carnegie Cohort. The National Average is also included in this graph, which is computed as the average of all US schools reporting to NCES 1 or more graduations in this line.
- Percent Undergraduate Women. Displays the total percent of undergraduate degrees that UIUC has awarded to women each year in this group/line as compared with other institutions in its Cohort by Size and Carnegie Cohort. The National Average is also included in this graph, which is computed as the average of all US schools reporting to NCES 1 or more graduations in this line.

The National Average is also included in this graph, which is computed as the average of all US schools reporting to NCES 1 or more graduations in this line. For the purposes of this graph, Black, Native American, Asian, and Hispanic races were considered minorities. Aliens were not included in the computation of this graph.

TABLES
- UIUC Totals. For each year, this shows the total number of degrees awarded by UIUC in each level (BS,MS,CAS,PhD,Pro), along with the percent of all degrees nationally that UIUC awarded in this line/group (for example, a value of 2.5% means that UIUC awarded 2.5% of all degrees awarded at that level in this line/group that year), and breakdowns of gender and race. Note that race data is only available 1995-2004. For Instructional Lines, the line code and line title used in that year is displayed.
